Simplify Media & the Death of Radio
A just released app from Simplify Media now allows me to stream my iTunes library to my iPhone and my iPod Touch. From anywhere. It’ll work within the house over the wifi, but – far more significantly – it allows me to stream my iTunes library over the 3G network.
So now, my music is entirely portable. And yes, that sound you heard was commercial radio, dying.
The iPhone app is free for the first 100,000 downloads. So if you have an iPhone, get it now!

I can also hear the sound of telcos laughing maniacally and rubbing their hands in glee as ppl use all their 3G data+excess by streaming music (unless this app can downsample to reduce amount of data transferred)

Good way to breach your Bandwidth Cap Pesce …..one of the things I will miss about America is “Unlimited” bandwidth

I also hear the telcos crying out in horror as their 3G equipment catches fire. Fellow from Voda AU was very worried about this. And I reckon the first 3G killer app – this could be it – will break things. Horribly.

Let me know how battery life goes
Though it will become somewhat less useful (for most people) as the iPhone storage capacity increases as well. Remember the iPod killed the radio first & has a much longer battery life.
But the kewlness of being ABLE to do it I certainly enjoy

No matter how big your drive is, the net will always be far, far bigger, far more varied, far richer in experience. It’s not so much that I can grab my own collection from anywhere. I can grab yours. Or Stephen Collins’. Or any of my other friends.
This is looking a lot like Napster, reborn.
